Limit your fraud liability and accept EMV chip cards easily with EMV acceptance

EMV Chip Card Technology Has Arrived. Is your business ready?

EMV chip cards help prevent in-store fraud and are nearly impossible to counterfeit. Chip technology is becoming the global standard for credit and debit card payments. To increase the adoption of chip technology, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express will implement a liability shift for domestic and cross-border counterfeit transactions effective October 1, 2015. Once this goes into effect, merchants who have not made the investment in chip-enabled acceptance technology may be held financially liable for in-store fraud that could have been prevented with the use of a chip-enabled acceptance device.

Whether you use an integrated POS system* or a standalone terminal device, we make it simple and easy for you to meet new EMV standards. In addition, most new EMV devices also accept emerging payment technologies such as NFC and Apple Pay allowing you to attract new consumers.

+ How it works
EMV introduces a small computer or “chip” to every payments device. This chip stores information, performs processing, and contains secure elements which store secret information and perform cryptographic functions. The most important feature of EMV is dynamic data generated with each transaction. This dynamic data makes it nearly impossible to create counterfeit cards, or replay intercepted transactions.
